Professor Max Lu is the Honorary President of the Federation of Chinese Scholars in Australia (FOCSA) and Chair of FOCSA’s Advisory Board. He is a key founder of FOCSA and the Inaugural President of FOCSA (2004-2006). Under his leadership, FOCSA grew into an Australian federation with more than 1000 Australian Chinese scholars and experts most of them with PhD qualifications. Recognizing his exceptional contributions to the founding and development of FOCSA, FOCSA Council awarded him the Distinguished Contributions Award in 2006.
Professor Lu is an internationally recognized expert in nanotechnology and is one of the highly cited researchers in materials science and chemical engineering with over 265 refereed journal publications (total citation exceeding 2800 and h-index of 32). He holds Australian Federation Fellowship – the highest honor in Australia for academics and researchers. He is currently Chair of Chemical Engineering in Nanotechnology and is Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Functional Nanomaterials at the University of Queensland. Professor Lu was elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering in 2002. Since 2003, he has served on two Expert Advisory Working Groups of the Prime Minister’s Science, Engineering and Innovation Council. Recently he is selected to participate in the Australia 2020 Summit.
Professor Lu has been championing the collaborations in science and technology between Australia and China. He is an overseas examiner appointed by the Chinese Academe of Science. He appeared on the cover page of “Chinese Scholars Abroad” magazine in 2005. He was listed as one of the top 50 people of Chinese origin who influence the world’s future in 2006 

逯 高清教授生于1963，现任澳大利亚昆士兰大学化工系纳米技术首席教授，国家功能纳米材料中心主任。1983东北工学院（现东北大学）毕业. 1991年在澳大利亚昆士兰大学获得化学工程博士学位。1991年到1994年在新加坡南洋理工大学任讲师.1994来历任昆士兰大学高级讲师， Reader，纳米技术首席教授。逯高清博士是纳米多孔材料吸附与催化领域的国际知名学者。他已在国际期刊上发表论文265篇，其中< SCI>收录 260 篇，被引用 >2800次(根据ISI索引）。已获12项专利，且极具工业应用潜力。在最近的10年中，他从政府机构及企业界承揽了共计2450万澳元的科研项 目。逯高清教授于2002年当选为澳大利亚工程院历史上最年轻的院士。他曾任澳大利亚国家研究理事会专家委员，澳大利亚总理科学工程与创新理事会专家委 员，分别任澳大利亚教育科学部研究基础设施委员会，和工业部纳米技术顾问委员会的专家委员。
  
逯高清教 授在专业领域获得过很多荣誉，其中主要有：1997年由国际材料研究学会颁发的青年科学家奖（Young Scientist Award）；2001年由IEAust（澳大利亚工程师学会）, IChemE (英国化学工程师学会）, 和 RACI（澳大利亚皇家化学学会）联合颁发的Orica Award（化学工程卓越贡献奖）；2002年由澳大利亚科学院颁发的Le Fevre Prize (物理化学奖)。2003 年，荣获澳大利亚皇家化学学会颁发的 RK Murphy Medal（奖章）。2004年，逯高清被澳大利亚工程师学会选入前100位学术、科研及企业界最有影响的工程人物。他曾被邀在许多国际会议上作大会报告 (KEYNOTES AND PLENARY) 50余次.他还担任数个国际期刊的编辑和编委，例如J. Colloids and Interface Science 编辑和其他12个国际期刊的编委。他是中国 <<科学通报>> 执行副主编。 逯高清担任一些大学或科研院所的客座教授,例如科学院生态环境中心、厦门大学，东北大学，石油大学、美国伊利诺伊大学香槟分校，普林斯顿大学、新加坡南洋 理工大学、香港科技大学等。中国科学院金属研究所“特聘研究员”2003年聘为中国科学院海外评审专家 和教育部长江学者海外评委。
逯高清教 授在中国和海外华人社会也颇有影响。他与其他学者一起创立了澳大利亚历史上第一家全国性华人学者团体-“全澳华人专家学者联合会”，并担任2004- 2006第一届主席。目前，他被聘为该会的名誉主席并兼任顾问团主席。2005 年逯博士以首位外籍华人杰出学者身份被《神州学人》刊物引为封面人物，对他业绩进行了重点介绍。2005 年他的事迹，成就和10 多幅照片被收录进《世界华人名人录》。2006年，逯高清教授入选香港凤凰周刊评选出具有指标意义的“影响世界未来50华人榜”。
